On Sunday, March 2, the screening of “Iwaki Note (FUKUSHIMA VOICE)” was held at Shibuya UPLINK. The shows were both full. About 140 people came to see the movie.
The audience at the Tokyo venue was different from that of other screenings and it was an opportunity for a more objective viewing by the general public. At the talk show after the screening, there were a lot of comments from the viewers. We were very grateful to hear words such as, “Hope for the young generation”, “The strong ties with the people of Iwaki could be felt”, “This is the sort of film I wanted to see”, and so on. Many questions came from college students of the same generation as the staff, and we realized that people of different generations are interested in our work and how so many people are continuing to work for the disaster stricken area.
Hikari Fujishiro and Shinko Shimomura, who both appeared in the movie, were invited to take part in the talk show, and Kakuhisa Ono and Sayaka Yoshida, who came to the screening, also remarked on the movie. We would like to express our gratitude for everyone’s encouraging comments, and would like to continue showing the movie in the hope that it would be of some help towards spreading the reality of Fukushima and Iwaki.
We would like to extend our thanks to the people who came to see the movie and to the UPLINK staff. (Hashimoto)
