Today we walked around Ishinomaki and Onnagawa. A particularly heavy rain was pouring down. Nevertheless, a religious festival was taking place and the people were carrying a portable shrine along the streets. We were totally impressed. 。

Hiyori Gallery
We went to a gallery that opened in the shopping district of Ishinomaki. It is located at one corner of the shopping street that had been damaged by the tsunami.
Kesennuma
On our way from Minami-Sanriku to Kesennuma, we saw several temporary shopping facilities. Most of the rubble was cleared away and we had the impression that the area was steadily moving towards recovery.
The picture represents the landscape of Kesennuma. The majority of debris has been removed and it now looks like a vacant lot. A large boat that had been tossed ashore by the wave was still sitting there. (Kataoka)
Minami-Sanriku-cho 2
After the shopping district, we headed to the harbor. It was difficult to believe that everything was truly gone. I cried a little. (Kataoka)
